Duck

Again I mutilate one of my mother's recipes, but it still tastes good in the end. This one is a book club (etc.) dessert, the kind of dessert we used to eat the mess-ups and leftovers of, but which weren't usually made for events that actually included children as participants.

You can make a lot of mess-ups by making them in a round pan and cutting squares. That's what I did this week, so I could bring some to Cedar's party and feel virtuous about the large number I left at home.

My apartment is full of happy today. We're staying here for another year! No moving! Also the dining room is clean! And so is my bedroom. I even vacuumed Plora's chair. (It is unrecognizable without the fog of cat hair.) And I did the handwash laundry I've been putting off for the past several months!

We've already been eating garden food, too, which is exciting. Mmmm, organic dandelions.

So, that was enough productivity for today (except for the dishes, I guess) and now I can go lie in bed and read! Yay!
