There's something very nice about that time when you are setting your computer's preferences in order and making decisions about backgrounds and things that, if you're me anyway, you know you won't be changing for a long time because you'll be too lazy even if your choices end up really annoying you. It's even nicer when you can choose to copy over and use the old preference files or not.
It's not nice at all, however, when the reason for which you get to do this is that your computer decided to stop functioning and you spent several hours of homework-time fixing it.
On the other hand, it *is* quite nice to have a functioning computer again.
