After last night's argument about the use of "he" as a gender-neutral pronoun in formal writing, today has provided some contrast from my militant feminism.

Namely, I hung out in the section of the library devoted to housekeeping advice, checked out a couple of books (for help with the mending workshop-- [livejournal.com profile] shaleside, I am so prepared now that you should actually come), opened a birthday package from my grandmother to find a journal with advice for being a proper Victorian lady, and wasted much of my afternoon reading "Manual of Home-Making", copyright 1919.

Of course, today has also neglected to provide contrast in that I've been sending out REU applications and got a math magazine in the mail again. And in that I would totally have that argument just as fast if Connor chose to discuss pronouns with me right now.
