Today I am happy.
Cedar and I went to a talk/ reading at Amazon Bookstore the other day (Monday?) which was pretty cool. The reading was from Self-Organizing Men, which is available from www.homofactuspress.com for kind of a lot of money, if you're looking for an interesting and varied book on (trans and cis)masculinity. There's some theory, some sort of silly one panel comics done by the editor (who did the reading), some personal reflections, some kind of porny bits.
At Amazon I bought a copy of s/he, which was my favorite book to take out of the GSC. So pretty! And now mine mine mine.
Hazel shaved my head for me, which was nice of hir. Ze made some threats of stopping halfway through (because it was taking forever with the crappy razors we had), but didn't, so I
1)didn't have to go to an actual barbershop.
2)didn't have to be brave enough to try to shave my own head.
3)do not now look mangy OR like I have male pattern balding.
I felt spoiled. It was nice. And now my head feels all cool and good, especially when it is wet and the water is evaporating off of it.
And I should do some dishes and then I can make blancmange! Which it turns out is basically jell-o pudding. This is a little disappointing, except that I love pudding. Although I am not sure why it is good for feeding to sick people. (See Little Women.)
