shiny things

Well, since I'm cranky, I think I'm going to write about things that make me happy.

For one thing, I went to the fabric store with Mary Ann and Sara(h?) and that was nice. I mean, it wasn't an especially nice fabric store, and it definitely had a lot of weird ugly fabric, but it had some good stuff too. And fabric stores are fun. And now I have pretty shiny fabric to make my final out of. So that's good.

And then I brought home an old Simplicity catalog that the fabric store was giving away, and Emily and I got to have fun with that. And then we were looking at men in Civil War underwear when a prof came over, but it was a young prof, and not one I really expect ever to see again. So that was okay.

And Laura was cracking up when she tried to start class today, because the people with the funny costumes were sitting front and center.

And Samhain was good and had lots* of people I didn't know who were really nice to have, and I'm beginning to understand why it might be one's favorite holiday (though I think it is still not mine.) It was kind of interesting, running the ritual. Because people were done or not-done to different degrees, and I was trying to figure that out, and also what to do about it, and it made me think being Archdruid was something other than making the fire. Which was kind of neat, and not the way other things have really been, thus far.

And I guess that starting topology might make me happy, so perhaps I will try that.
