So, in talking to
hazelsteapot this morning, I found out that beta fish are apparently so aggressive that one should not put them in tanks with other fish.
This is salient because we, an entire house full of Carleton students, had been keeping a goldfish in Beta's tank for nearly a week. And basically ignoring Beta's aggressive acts towards Gamma (the goldfish), until Emily got upset and separated them. Did it occur to us that this was a bad idea? Not really. A little. Did we know this about beta fish? Apparently, yes, at least one house member did. We're very good at applying our knowledge, us Carleton students.
