I've been wondering for a couple of years whether or not I could time my wakefulness to the sun. I mean, obviously I need to be awake/ asleep for more constant amounts of time than the sun could handle, at least in Minnesota, but it would be interesting to try. To wake up early enough not to be spending daylight asleep when I'm then awake for a good five hours after the sun goes down, for example. It's a tricky proposition.

On the one hand... I'm a morning person. I think better in the morning, I'm more on task, I like the way the world is then. And I like the idea of being in touch with the world by waking when it does. But a lot of things in my life aren't really conducive to that. People at college just aren't so available for socializing at 6 am as they are at 11 pm. And that matters to me. And it matters too that I do activities that I love that end at 10 or 11 at night, not even counting theater. Besides the fact that I'm just not used to timing my life that way. So... I don't know.

I'm going to try, though. Just a little, maybe, but it's sort of silly to wake up as late as possible when I know I'd rather work before class than at night. What's to lose?
